If you’ve ever been to a Kosher NY style bakery, you probably have seen a version of these sweet rolls. Sweet rolls are just one of those pastries that I gravitate towards at the bakery but my sister in law Malky absolutely loves them. I created this recipe for her. Malky lives in Houston now and really misses these so I wanted to give her a recipe that tastes similar. Think of these as a brioche like bread with delicious streusel topping. But what makes these extra special is the vanilla in the dough.
These rolls are perfect for breakfast, snack, dessert or a picnic.

Ingredients
Method
- Melt butter and let cool
- Mix yeast and water with a little of the sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes
- Add rest if ingredients besides flour and 1 egg and mix well
- Add flour
- Knead for 5 minutes. If dough is too sticky add a tablespoon of flour at a time while you knead.
- Let dough rise until doubled in size
- Punch down dough and form tennis sized balls of dough and add to a baking sheet, leaving 3 inches between
- Let rise for 30 minutes
- Brush rolls with dough and sprinkle with streusel
- Bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until gold brown

Ingredients
Method
- Mix together until it resembles coarse crumbs
